OVERVIEW & HISTORY
Bitumen is a precious material, that is very widely used in civil engineering. The description of Bitumen as ‘mankind's oldest engineering material’ can be supported by a considerable amount of evidence from scholars.Nearly 3000 years BC the Sumerians in Mesopotamia used Bitumen to fasten into the eye sockets of statues the materials such as ivory or mother-of-pearl pieces that represented the eyes. They also sculptured votive offerings out of a mixture of Bitumen and clay. Nowadays there are more than 250 known uses of Bitumen.
Bitutrade Industrial Co. LLC (BIC) specializes in the manufacturing of all grades and kinds of Bitumen bituminous liquid products are used mainly for two segments, the first one is for waterproofing works in construction and maintenance of buildings, the second is for asphalt pavement applications.
Initially founded in the year 1998 in Mussafah Industrial City of Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, our company underwent complete re-organization in May 2011,headed by a management team with vast knowledge and exceptional expertise accumulated during their many years of working in the Bitumen and Asphalt industry. The company was then registered under the name Bitutrade Industrial Co. LLC. (BIC). Since its re-organization, BIC has been impressively registering fast yet solid growth, continuously expanding its portfolio.
We pride ourselves in pioneering the launch of the first Polymer Modified Bitumen plant, in Abu Dhabi, that utilizes Bituflex® technology to produce an extensive portfolio of Premium top-quality PMB products, known commercially as Bituflex®. The Bituflex® technology we have adopted ensures only the highest level of quality and reliability.
In addition, our strategic location in the UAE enables us direct access to all major markets. BIC has dedicated ample resources to the research and development of new products, paying special attention to meeting the demanding needs of the regional market, and is now recognized by the level of excellence it has achieved. We are constantly striving to employ the most pioneering technologies in the industry, and our products are designed to offer usable and effective solutions for a wide variety of applications and markets. BIC stands for innovation, environmentally friendly, and quality products, and our Bituflex® range of PMB products is in perfect alignment with these principals.
APPLICATIONS AND PROJECTS
Fully focused on manufacturing Bitumen Bituminous liquid products, BIC has progressively widened its array of products and worked simultaneously to enhance each. We, additionally, have the capacity to tailor our products to match the needs of our clients’ from asphalt manufacturers, road builders, buildings construction engineers, government, designers and architects. The Bitumen products we manufacture are used in several countless project types, and serve the most advanced of applications. These include road construction and maintenance/re-surfacing of airside asphalt pavements for airports, motorways, racetracks and all asphalt related projects requiring high quality binders and Bitumen product. BIC includes waterproofing works for buildings, as well as for general construction and industrial works.

We have secured a substantial number of products' approvals from main road authorities and clients in UAE and Oman, such as: Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, Department of Transport (DOT),Musanada, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (Gasco), Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd.(ADCO), Abu Dhabi UAE Armed forces command of military, Abu Dhabi airports, UAE Armed forces, Ministry of transport & communications Oman, and the Royal court of affairs, Oman.

This involves the ongoing expansion of our product range, as well as support and enhancement for each of our products, in a manner that warrants meeting the environmental and safety standards issued by MSDS.
QUALITY ASSURANCE & FACILITIES

As part of our commitment to consistently supply exceptional products that conform to the highest standards in QC/QA, we have established a fully-fledged state-of-the-art laboratory for conducting impressive research, product testing emplying the latest methods, quality assessments and R&D. The Research Facilities constantly work to optimize the product quality by controlling the operational conditions, and refining the quality of raw materials. Testing is carried out against world-class standards which include, but are not limited to, the SHRP protocol of Superpave, AASHTO and ASTM, to ensure compliance with the same. Striving for excellence has always been our element of distinction, and having customer satisfaction as our key target means adopting very high and stringent quality standards for our products.
This in-turn translates to exhaustive internal inspection procedures, Quality Assurance (QA) checks and metrics that are cascaded throughout the entire company, across all levels, and integrated into our operations. We have established and effected a Quality Management System (QMS) which incorporates both a planning phase and a control phase, and our products undergo very rigorous testing that assures their exceptional performance, and helps our clients deliver on their commitments. Hygiene is another rule of our operational essentials; our facilities and production areas are kept in the highest degree of cleanliness, thus ensuring contamination-free production. Preventive measures have also been implemented that warrant minimal exposure to bituminous binders and their emissions, safeguarding our workers' health. Equally regarded and strictly adhered to they are the recommended constraints for controlling and minimizing the impact of bituminous related production on the environment. Consequently, BIC guarantees that all Bitumen products and services it produces and supplies meet the stated requirements and the highest criteria, they are also ISO 9001 certified and compliant with our HSSE management system requirements. We have in place stringent policies, procedures and training to ensure our HSSE Management System is extended to our stockholders.
